The biographical drama 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey, was released in theaters on October 27, 2023. The film is directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has previously directed films such as 3 Idiots, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, PK, and others.
12th Fail is based on Anurag Thakur’s novel “12th Novel.” It is the true story of IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame adversity to become an IPS officer.

12th Fail Plot:
The plot revolves around Manoj Kumar Sharma, an IPS officer from Chambal, a tiny hamlet in India. The 12th fail is a celebration of everyone who has the fortitude to regard failure as an opportunity to begin again, rather than just a record of one man’s journey. The film was shot with real pupils in regions well-known among students for UPSC preparation.
It is the first film to be shot in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, and when Vikrant Massey and the crew arrived, it was an exciting time for the fans, who went crazy seeing him. Massey also acknowledged their gratitude by greeting them.
Inspired by true events, the film follows hopeful students from throughout India who travel to Mukherjee Nagar with hopes of becoming future IAS/IPS officers.
12th Fail OTT Platform & Release Date
According to numerous sources, the film’s producers have sold the digital streaming rights to ZEE5. Although neither the film’s producers nor the OTT platform have confirmed the release date as of yet, Also, the OTT release date of the film is unknown, although it is assumed that it would be available on OTT after 2-3 months of theatrical run.
The film 12th Fail is doing well at the box office in the United States. Both spectators and reviewers have appreciated the picture, which has already earned over 45.13 crore net at the Indian box office, according to a report from November 24.
